Amazing salon/ spa! – Really cool atmosphere!! I've been to plenty of salons and was told by a coworker as well as a friend about this cool neighborhood salon. I was truly excited upon walking in and being greeted by a friendly and fun decor (full of art that changes frequently) and service providers that felt friendly and fun too! bad experience – i really wasn't happy w/ the service here. the staff was unorganized and/or they need to figure out a better way to keep appointment times. the piece-meal decor and general atmosphere does not match up w/ the prices for which i would expect a much more lux salon. also, you should be careful because on street parking in the area isn't the best. The car in front of mine was broken into.
Crystal is amazing. – I got my hair done by Crystal for an event. I showed her a bunch of pictures of how i wanted my hair to look like. She studied them carefully and my hair turned out in the perfect curls i wanted. We chatted and she was very attentive. I came back for a second time and got my makeup done too and it looked great and lasted for my whole day event. Definitely coming back for more!
Best massage in Portland - AND - Portlanders, consider yourselves amazingly lucky to have CRYSTAL! – Brenda is an awesome massage and cranial sacral therapist. She is truly a healer. I always completely enjoy myself when I'm at Akasu, and ALWAYS look forward to my monthly visits there. OK, I just went to Crystal....words cannot do her justice. She is um, the best I've EVER had. Since I started going to Niko I am always getting compliments on my hair – Niko is truly an artist and understands where beauty, style and function meet. She has always taken great care of me. The water is the right temperature, the conversation great and the atmosphere comfortable. She welcomes me on time with a glass of sangria, cup of water or hot coffee each visit. i'm so happy to have been referred – three terrible haircuts after moving to portland, and a friend recommended tyra at akasu. i love what she's done with the space, and i always love what she does with my hair. she urges me to try new things, and i love being able to trust her! great studio, i'd recommend them to anyone.
unpretentious, very welcoming – I have been getting regular facials with Nicole for the past year, and I can really see a difference in my skin. She helped me to feel better about myself, I don't even have to wear make-up anymore! Not only does my skin look better, but her facials are so relaxing I can hardly drive home afterwards!
Great customer service-excellent vibes! – I always enjoy my time at Akasu. All of the staff are friendly and courteous and really listen to my needs. Whatever the service- hair, nails or a wonderful body treatment, you can be sure the service will be top notch. And it's really beautiful inside! I highly recommend this place!
