Best hair color. Best hair cut I ever got. Beautiful salon – This salon is very unique! I loved the "atmosphere"...positive, relaxing, yet energetic. You can tell they spend a lot of time with each individual consulting each client as to what it is they want. They stylists are educated and informative. Best Salon Ever – Everyone at Akasu is so wonderful!!! I have such a good experience everytime I go there. I go for all their services, but mostly I get my hair cut and colored by Niko. I always get compliments on my highlights or my unique cuts. Massages, facials and pedicures are always a special treat. I highly recommend anyone go to Akasu for whatever your needs are. My husband and son also get their haircuts with Niko too and they always look very handsome:)
Just have to tell you about Brenda – Being a Man with some of the Salon phobias, I was anxious about my first massage at Akasu with Brenda. It was a truly great experience. The staff there made me feel very welcome, greeting me with smiles and offers of beverages. I can't say enough about Brenda and her skills. She is a warm and caring person with an indepth knowledge of massage techniques for whatever ails you. Delightful Experience – If you need a relaxing, totally de-stressing experience then Heather is the person to see at Akasu for a super facial. She has an excellent touch and uses the best smelling products. I was very happy with the way my skin looked and still looks after the 1 hour very special treatment by Heather. I love AKASU. – I followed Esthetician Heather Goodwin-O'Brien from her previous employer to AKASU. (I had called down to the Esthetician Board in Salem to find out the new spa she was working at) She's really that good. I have had facials and waxing done by Heather for about a year and a half. Heather is friendly, fun, and very professional. To my delight, she can be scientific in her explaination of procedures and products. That has helped me understand the why's of my skin care / waxing regime.
The best Spa experince I have ever had. – I orginally found "AKASU" hair studio and spa by contacting Glo Minerals to find out where, in my surrounding area of Vancouver, WA., I might be able to purchase their product. How shall I pamper myself...? – I have to put in a rave review for my Akasu experiences. Over the last few years, I've been to Akasu about 5 times, and have sampled a selection of the services they have to offer: 2 great haircuts, a gentle massage following the birth of my first child, a skin scrub followed by a deep massage, a haircut preceded by a neck massage. Best deep tissue massage I've ever heard – Sara Petersen is the best massage therapist I've ever been to. Period. (And I've been to many). I went to her based on strong recommendations from three friends and it was every bit as good promised. I had a deep tissue massage to alleviate stress and sports injuries. However, I understand that she is excellent using other massage techniques as well.
warm and welcoming – Being in the spa business myself for the last 10 years, I've had a lot of massages. It used to be that I wouldn't allow a massage therapist to perform deep tissue on me because of how easily I bruise. I've even been bruised during a simple Swedish massage.
