Best brow shape – I followed Josh Lange to Akasu because he is the absolute best for brow shaping. I have always had a problem with my brows because they aren't even and are very bushy. Over the years I've gone to dozens of different folks with mixed results. After the first time Josh shaped my brows I knew my days of wandering were over. i can't wait... – well... I don't have any money to my name but a couple of times a year I reserve some of the little money I have for a hair cut with Tyra. I always walk out of Akasu feeling as if I just got the greatest hair cut! I love their products by Eufora. I would highly recommend Tyra for cuts and colors. She has an eye for what would look great for your face and complexion. It has been a while since I have been in, but I just made an appointment for this week. I can't wait!
Baby your face – Heather has a true understanding and passion for her craft and it shows. I have never had a more relaxing facial. She has a different rhythm and a gentle touch. She knows what shes doing. Thank you Heather and thank you Akasu!
massage with sara petersen – Sara Petersen is the best masseuse I've experienced in Portland (and that's saying a lot, because I'm a native, and I like my massages!). I strained my IT band and have a patellar problem in my left knee from running, and Sara spent a lot of time working on the injured areas and the "downstream" areas that are just beginning to suffer from the injury. Amazing facial – I received the most amazing facial from Heather at Akasu on Monday. Not only did she help me relax and enjoy a wonderful 1&1/2 hour experince she had a lot of knowledge and taught me quite few things. I walked out with a soft glowing face and my confidence a bit higher. If you get a chance go see her, you won't be disappointed.
Excellent holistic massage: comfort and knowledge dispensed – For two years I have gone to Akasu because of Tyra?s ability to help me finally be satisfied with my hair color and cut. Recently I began getting massages from Sara P., who has been excellent at offering the deep tissue work my back needed. Oustanding massages and hair cuts at Akasu – I have been getting my hair cut at Akasu since it first opened. I have had Tyra, Niko, and Crystal cut my hair. They have all done excellent and mindful work with good conversation to go along with it. That is is always a bonus. More recently I have started to get massages at Akasu. Fabulous – AKASU is great. Tyra is a magician with color and I was amazed at how long my color lasted. Crystal does wonderful and fun things with short hair. All of the staff is friendly, patient, and attentive. The customer service is outstanding and if I had more $$ I would indulge in their other services (mani, pedi, facials, massage, etc.) which I hear from friends are great. Furthermore, I enjoy supporting a woman owned and operated business!
Unique, relaxing, warm salon – I've been to a lot of salons in Portland and find Akasu to be refreshingly real with consistently excellent service and a warm, relaxing atmosphere. If you like to support local businesses and entrepreneurs, then you owe Akasu a visit. This is a far cry from the slightly affected, cold, or amped up atmosphere of some other salons.
