We have 2 heat pumps, upper unit and lower unit. The lower unit has a compressor problem, the a/c does not work. No problem, at this time, because we don't use the lower unit. Most of the lower level is undeground, so no problem doing without the lower unit. The last time the service guy was here he said I could use the yearly service plan to service the upper unit 4 times in 2 years, and forego the maintenance on the lower unit.
