I have adopted and that was a good experience overall and still have the dog. This was almost 4 years ago. However the animal hospital component was upsetting. We brought in our very large deaf pit bull that weighs easily 80lbs. Well, we told the tech that took her back that she might need a muzzle. He didn’t bring a muzzle and proceeded to take her inside. Tampa Humane Society used to be a place where folks of low income could bring animals for needed care at a low cost for the pet owners. This has changed.
amazing staff, very caring. gentle with our baby. helpful in so many ways. 10/10 would recommend 💝 and a big thanks to Gretel Harvey.
Currently they are undergoing a massive renovation. The place will be much bigger when completed. We enjoyed visiting the cats and petting them.
I recently had to take my cat to them and help her cross the Rainbow Bridge due to her health. The staff was so nice and compassionate. They took get care in helping her and were consoling me. I just got her back this week and they were very nice.
Dropped off a bunch of blankets, cleaning supplies and TON of tennis balls (since they say they always need toys). Happened to still be in the parking lot and see an employee throw the tennis balls in the dumpster. Tons of places could have used these!!! I asked why he threw them away and he said they didn't have anywhere to store them and they did keep one small bag (they probably threw out over 200 tennis balls!!!). If you didn't want them, you could have told me as we brought them inside and I would have donated elsewhere... read more
