We've been in here a few times and the customer service is always good and the food. This time we just stopped in for drinks the last time I was in there I had the Nashville hot chicken and it was good.
Atmosphere was nice. Service was good. Shrimp po boy was not. Mushy fish and shrimp. Bland. Pimento/BLT was ok.
We loved this place. We too saw this place on DD&D and instantly wanted to try it. The entire staff was great including servers & hostesses. Best Po Boy I've ever had
We came for lunch, and the food was really good. However, I had to send my burger back 3 times. I ordered it plain...meat and cheese only. I accept that I have food issues. However, if McDonald's messes up my burger, they make a new one. Scraping the stuff off and bringing it back out to me isn't what I expected of a restaurant of this caliber. If you have a special request for food, make sure they get it right.
I rate this one 5 stars; I don't have a single reason not to :-) We saw 55 South on DD&D and it had been on our bucket list for quite some time so we drove to Franklin last night specifically to eat there. The place was packed and we were told the wait would be an hour and a half to two hours. We expected as much and put our name on the list then we hit several of the other shops in the area. Best PO Boy sandwhich I've had in the Nashville surrounding area. Red beans and rice are really good too!
My husband and I ate here on June 11, 2016 for our 34th Anniversary. This was our first time eating at this restaurant. My husband had the Char-Grilled Garlic-lemon butter, parmesan oysters for an appetizer, we both ordered the Seared Ribeye with Garlic red skinned potatoes, red wine braised mushrooms. The food was very good! The service and our waitress was good too! We will visit this restaurant again. Thanks 55 South for letting us enjoy a delicious meal for our Anniversary!
My wife and I were there June 11, 2016. Our first time there. The food was great! The ribeye steak was awesome! And so were the char grilled oysters! We will be back
Great server and the food was amazing. Especially the BLT with fried green tomatoes. Well worth the 9 hour drive from Michigan!
