amazing cut and color – I love my hair! I got a cut and color with Katie and she did such an amazing job. She was really easy to talk to and I loved that she made sure we were on the same page about what I wanted to do with my hair before she began working. Can't wait to go back!
526 rocks – from the moment i walked in the door and realized that this salon sells Bumble & Bumble products, i was hooked. i had moved to MN from So Cal in the middle of winter and was lucky enough to take a seat in Laura's chair. She is by far the most talented colorist/stylist i have ever dealt with. prices are fair esp when i compare what i used to pay in CA. Laura has transitioned me from being a prego woman wanting to look half-way sexy to a svelt mother of two with a great haircut and awesome color. i am constantly as... read more
Where did you get that haircut? – Did you ever wish you were one of those people that strangers would stop and says, "where did you get that hair cut?" I had been going to another salon for about 4 years when my stylist moved. Soon after that I was at the Great Harvest Bakery on Selby and the person waiting on me had the cutest hair cut ever. I asked her who styles her hair, she said next door, 526, and it's Katrina. I made an appointment and have gone to Katrina ever since. Now I am seriously the person strangers stop on th... read more
Excellent Customer Service! – A friend of mine referred me to 526 Salon and I booked an appointment kind of hesitantly. After chatting for a bit on the phone, the front desk person suggested that I see Laura. She took quite a bit of time to find out what type of hair I had and what I was looking for. From the moment I walked in the door I was thoroughly impressed. The salon is gorgeous! Everything was neat and tidy and the stylists and front desk staff were so warm and friendly. Everyone seemed as though they were happy to b... read more
Stylists great, customer service AWFUL – I have been going to this salon for about one year. My stylist is great, but for the second time in a six month period, my appointment that I (made 6 weeks in advance) has been lost. The salon's response "we're sorry if that was our error, but are you sure you made the appointment for today?". Yes. I'm sure. I am going to a reunion tonight, why would I book the appointment for 5 weeks from tonight. Thanks for your help. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
Way overpriced – I paid $150 for a cut an highlights. I had brought in two pictures of a cut I wanted and it kind of looks like it. I had also brought in a picture of the highlights I wanted and they look like something I did at home when I was 17: Completely brassy and blotchy. Laura clearly did what SHE wanted and not what I wanted. Why I tipped her $15 - I don't know. There must be a hairstylist out there who is actually worth her $50/hour. I make $20 and don't get a tip.
Great Service – I went in somewhat skeptical because I am a guy that has never been to a fancy salon before. I really enjoyed the service and the haircut that I received. I especially enjoyed the upbeat and fun receptionists that made it the best experience possible. My stylist was running late and they made me feel comfortable and relaxed while I was waiting. I would recommend this salon to anyone and everyone because it was such great service.
Much better! – UPDATE: I had originally posted that I loved my sylist at 526 but was frustrated with the front desk service due to a couple of bad experiences. However... The front desk has been wonderful in the past 6 months. Also, the manager had somehow found out I'd written my original 3-star review and made a nice gesture to make up for my gripes. I am impressed that 526 has worked to make things better for its customers. Nicely done! I am looking forward to continuing to use 526 services and have referred a number of p... read more
Would it hurt them be a little more friendly? – I was really excited to try this place, as it gets great reviews and looks very nice. I was happy with my haircut. However, I felt like a plague from the moment I walked in the door. No greeting from the front desk. No direction as to where to hang my coat, etc. My stylist, though skilled, had the personality of a dish towel and a condescending attitude to boot. Not the best traits when you make your living in a service trade.
526 Salon has a 4.9 star rating with 727 reviews.
