If you're a foodie and you love a chilled beer but cant find the right spot, guess what? You just did at 5 Spot. Walk in early morning and they greet you with a king-size breakfast. At noon grab a quick bite and it's back to work or you can have a quiet mid-day meal. Dinner is always fun because out here you can kick it till midnight. Good food, great company and a cool beer and voila life is fine! And you thought it was going to be another one of those boring nights.

the food hits the SPOT! – I think "5 Spot" sums up what Seattle is to me: a melting pot of great cuisines in one big city! My friends and I enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere the restuarant had with its' friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Their menu does represent the key American cuisines and I thought that they did a good job at it. Do visit the restuarant when your craving a huge appetite because the "5 spot" does have huge serves! Eh... – Food just kinda' "Eh" now. Great service generally and the breakfasts are still choice, but it's just so...well...DONE. I wish it wasn't. I've been wearing a beat to cr*p 5 Spot t-shirt for ten years now. Used to love it. Now simply rue it.
The cosmo Seattle breakfast – Always buzzing with loads of people, the 5 spot serves tasty food although can be spicy/heavy/greasy. Great bloody marys and juices, and very very strong coffee! The rotating theme menu is also decent but portions are sometimes tiny.
not so fun anymore – My first few times to 5 Spot were always fun and exciting. I remember having loved the food - especially the steamy hot fresh berry cobbler. This last time, however, the restaurant seemed to have lost all its brightness and novelity. It was boring, colorless and borderline chintzy. The food was mediocre and I left very dissatisfied.
What a disappointment . . . – Although I live in Queen Anne, we often venture to other neighborhoods for breakfast and decided to try the 5 Spot when we drove by and saw there was no line outside the door. After eating there, I wonder why there's ever a wait. Blueberry pancakes were heavy and the blueberries weren't mixed into the batter, just on top. Eggs and hash browns were too greasy, and the service was horrible (the waitress was MIA).
I don't think so. – I am sorry, but the best comfort food in Seattle, is Philly's Best. 5 spot is a great place, with great food. However, there is nothing as comforting as a beef or chicken pepper cheese steak from Philly's Best. They do it right... big, tasty, well priced.
Big disappointment – Took some out of town relatives here for a fun, yummy breakfast and instead got so-so service and nearly inedible food. My mother loved her cinnamon French toast, and the rest of us couldn't gag down our eggs, toast, biscuits in gravy, hash browns, even the fruit had gone bad. A truly terrible breakfast. I've been to several other restaurants under that ownership which were wonderful. An unpleasant surprise.
relax-enjoy – Since stumbling on to this place two years ago, I make it part of every visit I make to this city.. if lines are long, I'll come back later, but I generally find a good booth and a friendly (and efficient) wait-staff. Sometimes, I'll miss something that was dropped from the always evolving menu, but there has always been something new that makes this a memorable part of my stay.
no comfort food – Comfort food? You've got to be kidding. Service was okay, food was worse. I doubt I'll go back again.
