You Will Not Be Disappointed I have had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant several times. It is unbelievable! The staff greets you at the door and thus begins a fantastic night. The food has never failed to live up to its billings. I have had the filet and lamb and they are both fantastic, some of the best I have ever had. Excellent 1789 is a great place for a special evening. The food is wonderful and the service matches that. This is an expecially great deal during Restaurant Week. The prices are not cheap, but the service, ambience, and taste explain why the prices are what they are.
Enjoy a Revolutionary Experience! The food, service and decor at 1789 are simply divine! Make your reservations well in advance for a special occasion or to entertain out of town visitors. It's not just dinner it's an event! The tasting menu is a particular favorite with fabulous wine pairings. The scallops were absolutely 'melt in your mouth' delicious! The wait staff are attentive, responsive and eager to please. 1789 is a beautiful setting for any celebration!
Old City Charm Abounds! You'll feel like an honored guest before you even set foot in the place. Attendants will swing the heavy front door open for you and immediately the host/hostess will greet you. They have, I believe, 5 separate themed dining rooms for you to enjoy and make each visit a unique one. On my most recent visit, my party enjoyed the civil war room. 1789 is an old schooler that, with the help of chef Ris LaCoste, has managed to keep up with the hipper restaurants of a new generation.
Good Food When I lived here, this was always one of the choices to take my out of town guests. Eat and then walk around Georgetown. Now that's the way to experience DC.
Great Restaurant This is a wondeful place to take guests or to go on a great date night! The food is wonderful and service is great. Highly recommend it to out of towners or those in DC looking for a great night out!
A Federalist Treat This is a great treat for out of town guest or business partners, especially if you are on an expense account. The tasting menu that combines a wonderful five course meal with wine pairings makes any night out a event to remember. The beautifully decorated Georgetown Row House has several themed dining rooms on several floors. The lamb is a house specialty and will not disappoint.
Wonderful sercvice,nice atmosphere,amazing food! there medely seafood dish was too die for, wonderful service, very nice setting as well, will definetly be back..1789 is a five star spot.Men this is the place to impress the ladies.
