I went on the recommendation of glowing reviews and was disappointed. Paulino was interrupted half a dozen times during my time by staff wanting consults, to deal with scheduling issues, and to cut another client's hair. At one point he even left the building. At $200 for a cut/semi-permanent wash I'd wish for more attentiveness. And the cut wasn't good. Unimpressed – After reading the glowing reviews from the salon I decided to make an appointment. I went in for a haircut and wanted something fun and hip. The service was good. However, the stylist cut too much hair off and I left with a helmut head. This was about 1.5 months ago and it is still growing out. PS, I also thought it was strange that they had flyers all over the salon requesting for you to vote in "city's best", good quality stands on its own and does not need to be pushed.

Without our guests, we wouldn't exist. We attempt to exceed the expectations of everyone we see. Sometimes, we don't totally hit the nail on the head. We apologize when that happens and do our best to make-it-up to any guest whose needs are not totally met. We have a lot of fans and, in the past, they have requested us to alert them to the next "Best Of" event. We apologize if this came off in the wrong fashion. We always try and we always care.
The Beauty inside... – My daughter and I have been clients of Paulino's for several years. Our haircuts and color have been nothing but beautiful but it doesn't stop there. Paulino and Joe, the owner, have taken care of us for the entire year while we attempt to get back on our feet from a horrible car accident in Jan.of 2005. Spectacular Results! – I went in yesterday to try something new with my hair. If only you could see a before and after picture! Spectacular results. I have strangers asking who does my hair. I could not have asked for better results. My hair was over bleached from the last salon I used, so Crystal at Ziva, color corrected it and than used a 3 step damage control system made by Bumble and Bumble!That is a MIRACLE PRODUCT! They wowed me! – I went to Ziva for a new hair color and style because my hair needed an update. I have never been so impressed by any salon. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. It is very obvious that they don't try to sell you products to make a sale, they do it to improve the health and overall beauty of your hair. Even if you don't buy a product they love to educate you on them. I had a great time while I was there. They offered me complimentary tea, protien bars, anything to make me feel at home. Best Brazilian I Have Ever Had!!! – I moved to Portland a year ago from New York. I use to love my salon in New York, and was fearful I would never be able to replace it. After having a few bad experiences trying different salons in Portland, I found Ziva. The staff was very friendly and the store has a ton of great products! Jessica was amazing!! It was the best brazilian I ever had. She is very professional, friendly and talented! I highly recommend seeing Jessica for all your waxing and skin care needs!!
Best Portland by Far – I'm not one for reviews.... but Ziva is just simply amazing! I have to give them credit for being so consistantly professional and in tune to their clients. Their staff well trained, they use the best products, and produce amazing cuts and colors on me every time! I have had to withstand some of their staff members leaving over time, but I will still keep going back to Ziva... I know I will be taken care of!
