I paid for a rental a week in advance then comes the day of, the rental wasnt there as it was supposed to be. After 10 minutes of fruitless searching thinking the last guy parked it where it wasnt supposed to be - I called Zipcar and apparently there was an issue with the previous rental. In situations like these, I expect to know BEFOREHAND that the car has been made unavailable. On top of that, there was no alternative cars to be switched to. Zipcar is a SCAM!I signed up for Zip car, paid their application fee, and was denied without reason. I'm 55 and have been driving since 16 yrs old. I have an excellent driving record and credit score, no driving infractions, and a good income, yet I was denied.According to their eligibility requirements, I met and surpassed all their requirements and provided all their requested paperwork. A zipcar has been parked facing the wrong way in front of my house for 2 days. They said they'd have it towed a day ago. For two days I haven't been able to park at my house because someone that doesn't know how to drive illegally parked & abandoned a zipcar outside my house. Very frustrating and has not left a good impression of the brand or company.

Zero stars are the honest rating Do not even bother doing business with this company I was promised a rental and I started an account I then booked for a car and paid all of my fees in advance for 3 months straight. I waited for them to send me a zip card which is needed and has the key to start the vehicle ........I was not given any prior notice that there were any delays I was not given any types of notification or phone calls nor even e-mails that There would be some type of of waiting PERIOD TIMES with my account either... read more

I was charged an application fee and a monthly fee for new membership activation. But, when I tried to book a car, I was told I wasn't able to do so because I had a previous account (closed over 5 years ago). On their own web site, it clearly states you don't need a Zipcard to book if signed up after 1 May 2020. I was told that this didn't apply to me as I had had a previous account even though I paid the same fee and the same activation rate as everyone else again. I was charged an application fee but the site never worked. I could never get the account to connect with the mobile app. So basically, I was charged money and delivered NO service whatsoever. I tried to contact support and I was not helped or responded to. I canceled my membership with them and they continued to charge me membership fees. I've never had such a fundamentally terrible customer experience where literally nothing was delivered for my money.

Beware! Dont park next to a zip car. They are being set on fire on purpose. We were parked next to a zip car when it was set ablaze. Naturally our car caught fire and was severely burned and damaged. The zip car company refuses to acknowledge any responsibility and we now have no car. I wish to give this company a zero star rating if I could. Reluctantly I give it the lowest one star.

Thought it would be a good way to get around town, but they have no customer service model and ****** me off. It ended up being a waste of money. Lyft was more affordable. I left something in the car, called customer service who created an unnecessary trip, used my driving credit and then wouldn't return that credit when all the man at the lot had to do was tap his card to the censor, I reached my hand in and grabbed it, boom, done. Would give a zero star if I could. Charged me THREE TIMES the advertised rate THEN when we had an emergency (my wife needed emergency service) provided no help on alternate places to drop it off, sent us one place than another, then charged us CRAZY OUTLANDISH towing fees after they LOCKED ** OUT OF THE ****
