Located across the street from Tompkins Square Park, Yuca Bar is a superb pan-Latin restaurant. The bar offers a happy-hour everyday and it's a great place for a drink after a day hanging out in the park. Take a seat by the window and people watch while you drink handcrafted cocktails, wines or Sangria. If you are here to eat exclusively, the menu features dishes from Brazil, Mexico, Cuba and elsewhere in the Spanish speaking world.

Great place wonderful value – Was owed a meal from a friend and she ended up taking me to the Yuca Bar and wow was the place great. The drinks are great, have two of them and you?ll swear that you have some percentage of Latin in you. Our app, name I am forgetting, was comprised of beef, fried onions, and flat bread ? amazing. The Paella was great; the portion was too much for one person and subsequently became a take home item. The tres leche was one of the best I ever had, seemed a bit on the small side, but again it was s... read more
FABU!!! – Before I begin...plan ahead because the place gets PACKED!!! However, it's well worth the wait :) Now for the review: Once seated...the manager came over...took our order of a pitcher of FRESH sangria and mango mojitos! What great service! Then our waiter came over, Michael, and was our comic relief for the remainder of our stay! If you want hysterical...ask to be seated in Michael's section!! Thanks Mike for a great time!!! :) Our appetizers came in record time as did our meal. I must say...this East Village eater... read more
Great service, even greater food! – We love this place!! Amazing drinks, awesome food and some of the best service in the city. Everytime we go to Yuca we are shocked by how little the bill comes to- the place is soooooo reasonably priced (4 large mixed drinks=$30!). My boyfriend is crazy for the roasted pork. Service is incredibly efficient. My friend knocked over her drink last night and before we even had time to pull out our napkins a bus boy ran over and had the entire thing cleaned up. You've gotta try this place!
Good, small place – I've been here a lot, and have never had a bad meal. The food's great and the service is very good (but not pushy at all). Sangria is usually good, but occassionally its a bit weak. Prices are good as well. You could make a meal out of the tapas. I only wished they changed up the menu a little bit more often.
Great Food , Great Enviroment , Great Music And great Prices!! I have tryed alsmot everything on the menu and find everything to have taste and variety to the menu
Great brunch – I have been here a few times for brunch as they have a great deal - I think it's something like $11 for your entree, a drink (the bloody marys are delicious) and coffee. Although the place has always been crowded, I've never had to wait too long for a table. The service wasn't the best but they were always friendly and hey, the place was pretty busy so it's to be expected. I had the breakfast burrito both times I went - delicious. And the hash browns that came with it were also delicious - they had sweet potat... read more
Lots of Flavor For Lots of Value – This place was a surprise to me the first time I ate there. It was a Sunday and I was walking around alone looking for a good spot to brunch and read a book and a stumbled upon it. Great brunch. For $10 I got a bloody mary, crabcakes benedict with avocado and yuca hash and a cup of coffee. What a deal and the food was so good! It was warm out and they had all the glass doors open and it brought in such a nice breeze. I felt like I was in the tropics. I have been back many times since. They ... read more
nice calamari – I have eaten lots of calamaries in many different restaurants, but their calamari sticks in my head as probably some of the best ones... i can't say much about their other foods though...seems just average. It's also very crowded on fridays and weekends...long wait to be seated.
Say yes to Yuca! – Yuca is a fun restaurant! We went Saturday night- there was a 20 minute wait for two. We had drinks at the bar- the mojitos are super, almost syrup-y sweet, if you like drinks like that. Otherwise, I'd stick to the sangria- which is good. We ordered only tapas- overall, they were delicious. I definitely recommend the ceviche tasting- tuna, salmon, and white fish- so good! The meat skewers were fun- you get a little grill at the table to heat up the meats. However, the lobster quesadilla was disappointing- ... read more
