Very thorough and very professional. So far happy with the results
Five years ago, Dr. Ugokwe was covering a vacation for a pediatric neurosurgeon at Dayton Children's Hospital. I brought in my two year old son with severe hydrocephalus. Dr. Ugokwe saved his life, stabilizing him until the pediatric neurosurgeon returned to help. My son is healthy, happy, and soon to be eight years old. I will be forever grateful.
Bad front office staff. Played word games on the phone and in person. Non professional receptionist. Would not give me info I needed about doctor. Other reviews mention bad communication with staff. Felt so uncomfortable about this doctors office, I left before seeing doctor. When I told the staff I was leaving because I didn't want to play games with my medical treatment, they told me they were going to put a negative report in my medical records.
I don’t know if you’ll find a more humble neurosurgeon in all your life. Dr. Ugokwe is honest, kind, and compassionate. Five months ago, he saved my husbands life in the knick of time. I thanked him and his response: “I’m just the middle man.” WOW! My family and I will forever be greatful to Dr. Kene Ugokwe. He will always be our biggest HERO. #fishstrong
Dr. Ugokwe has done 2 successful surgeries on me thus far. My spine was a total train wreck, and he managed to get my neck in much better functioning condition, and also fixed some issues with a major surgery on my lumbar spine. I recommend him to every one who asks me about my procedures! He has such a casual, yet very professional way about him, with an awesome bedside manor, and understanding of what he is doing (and can explain it in layman's terms without making you feel like a numskull).
Wonderful surgeon with great bed side manner, takes time to answer questions and explain procedures. Awesome smile!
Saw Dr. Ugokwe and was told to do therapy, epidurals and follow up in 6 weeks. When I called to schedule the follow up the person I spoke with informed me that I would have to do the epidurals - which I chose not to do after speaking with several people that say they do not work and are only a temporary fix - and I would have to completely quit smoking before I could schedule an appointment to even speak with him. Sounds like a form of discrimination to me -- won't be bothering to call again.
Excellent physician!!! And has a sense of humor!!!!!
