I have had terrible vision since I can remember. I wanted to be able to wake up and see but I had a corneal ulcer and had a significant amount of scar tissue and with that I knew my eyes were too thin for LASIK. I met with Dr. Coleman and he did all of my scans to make sure I was a candidate for SMILE and recommended a sclera contact for my other eye with the scar tissue. I was referred to Dr. Wyche Coleman III for a second opinion following light-adjustable cataract lens placement performed at another clinic that resulted in less than optimal results. My post operative long distance vision was not good. After an extensive evaluation Dr. Coleman determined that nothing more could be done to tweak any improvement out of the light-adjustable lens, but was able to offer a LASIK enhancement of my long distance eye. In Oct, 2022 I went to see an ophthalmologist (not Dr Coleman) for floaters in my right eye, he said I needed cataract surgery and that the left eye was worse. I agreed to surgery and on Dec 5, 2022 I underwent surgery that went terribly wrong, 2 hours long, could not put lens in, pieces of old lens dropped, eye pressure too high. Followed by 2 appts to drain fluid from the eye and finally, a referral to Dr Coleman to repair the damage. My husband saw Dr. Coleman about a year ago for a second opinion for cataract surgery. We had seen another surgeon who didn’t feel that he could correct my husband’s vision with artificial lenses. Dr. Coleman did a thorough examination & told my husband he could correct his vision as well as remove the cataracts. He had the surgery done & had multifocal Panoptic lenses placed. My dad has been scared of this surgery for years. He served throughout WW2 and managed to come out unscathed. As a matter of fact, this cataract surgery would be his first surgery he has ever gone through. His vision was so bad he couldn't see anything but the outlines of faces. Sad but true. Finally, he agreed to go through with the surgery. The staff along with Dr. Coleman could not have been any nicer and competent. Great experience and very happy with the results. I started having vision problems several months ago, but having had several back surgeries recently, I just didn't want to undergo medical treatment if I could avoid it. After a thorough exam, Dr Coleman determined he could solve my problem with a quick laser procedure (2 minutes). My problem was solved. For the rest of my life, any vision issues will be checked out by Dr Coleman.
