I want for a eye exam only to find out in order to have my eyes exam it would be additional fee. He only will see the health of your eyes. I was was shocked to know I was not going to have a full eye exam. I had gone to him 18 months ago and had a full exam. Did tell me maybe if I had a small correction in my lenses it would help. How would he know without doing a FULL exam. Only those drops.
Dr. Octavec is a great doctor and the staff is pleasant. My only problem at the moment is the billing. I was charged 145.45 out of pocket for my visit, but their office billed my insurance $120. and i was supposed to only pay $98.71 My Flex card caught the discrepancy, and so now it's up to me to take time off to straighten it out. I'm sure they'll be nice about it. It's just such a time waster.
Dr. William J. Oktavec is an experienced, board certified ophthalmologist with outstanding, longtime and knowledgeable staff and optical dept. Referred by my GP and grateful for being a new patient.
Knowledgeable in practice and skilled in procedures, Dr Oktavec may not be a great conversationalist, but he is a very fine practitioner. I am very confident in his ability and the practice (Including the latest MD addition, Dr Kathleen Kepler)
Dr. O is the ultimate professional. I trust him implicity, as his patient, and as a former OR RN, and home health nurse.
IF YOU'VE GOT LOTS OF TIME ON YOUR HANDS TO WASTE, GO TO HIM. IF NOT, GO TO ANOTHER DOCTOR. MY APPOINTMENT WAS FOR 8:30 A.M. AND AT 10 A.M., I GOT UP AND LEFT THE EXAMINING ROOM.. THERE WERE NO OTHER PATIENTS IN THE WAITING ROOM; HE WAS CHATTING WITH ANOTHER DOCTOR IN THE HALLWAY.
I saw Dr oktavec after getting a diagnosis from another Der that I was legally blind, no glasses would help but he would remove a cataract in a week and might make one eye clearer. Big decision so I asked on=line for references and got Dr Oktavec's name. Called, went in and thank God I did .I have glaucoma, current too high pressure for surgery and he gave me glasses so that I can see again and even drive. He is my hero and look for my condition to get better and better.
I would absolutely recommend Dr. Oktavec. Yes, there is a long wait when you get there, and I don't appreciate that, but he is a very competent physician and I am happy to put my eye health in his hands. He was recommended to me and now all of my family is in his care.
