RecommendedI've been going to the optimology dept to deal with my possible glaucoma. my doctor and the staff has been very helpful. the process, the tests, and the explanations have all been smooth for me. I have had a pleasant time everytime I go.
I'm sitting in the ER waiting room right now going on 30min. After a previous ER visit the VA called me to tell me I was exposed to someone with covid and scheduled me to get tested. so instead of a drive up test or a minimal contact test....They told me to come on in, I suppose they want me if positive to expose many...then while I'm waiting the woman at the desk tells me that if I want to head to xray for my other appointment I can. Tried to schedule a yearly physical and was told the earliest appointment was January Next Year. Tried to get my records from their records department for 9 years. That required a Congressman to step in and request the records for me since they "couldn't find" them. After the congressman sent in a request I had them within about 4 months. The amount of money being funneled into the VA is huge compared to the amount of service actually coming out of it.
The VA is a great place to receive care, getting through the incompetence of the call center to get a simple message to your doc or trying to make an appointment is next to impossible
I get all my treatment at the Wilkes-Barre VAMC and I've never had a problem with the service I've received.
Their Dental sector is complete garbage.
The staff care about Veterans.
dont get me wrong a few Drs did me wrong. but this hospital and their staff has saved my life many many times
My husband has to go to the oncology center twice a month,in these scary times ,we are afraid to leave the house.So clean and everyone makes you feel comfortable while he is getting his treatment. I am so impressed with the team at the center. He also has a wonderful Doctor, also the nutritionist that helps us also...I thank you all
