Awesome steaks, not so great service – My fiance took me here for Valentine's Day with reservations. We arrived 10 minutes before our reserved time and were seated within 10 minutes, so that worked out perfectly. The "take-out" line was about 20 people long, though, which made for a very crowded lobby. Our server was ok, I've had better service. We never got any bread/butter that all of the other tables got with their meals, but we figured we didn't need it anyways. I ordered a chocolate martini, which was great and my fianc... read more
Remarkable steak and wine – Wildfire always makes the shortlist of dinner places in the suburbs. It is an extremely busy place, but with a reservation (good luck getting one for a Saturday night, btw) I've generally been seated promptly. Parking is a mess. Using the inexpensive valet service is a good idea. And, as another reviewer notes, it is generally a loud place. Tables are relatively close to each other. I like getting a booth. Despite that mixed preface, I highly recommend this place. The food makes up for a wait, if ... read more
Delicous Chopped Salad – While getting into this place at night is a nightmare, sometimes worth the wait. They have very consistent, great food. From the filets with toppings (choose your favorite) to the chopped salad to the martini trio, this restaurant hits a home run. Lunch time is a great time to go, busy as well so dont arrive right at noon, but the mustard chicken sandwich on the pretzel roll hits the spot! ENJOY
Suburban steakhouse with a swingy 1940s theme and huge, hearty portions. – In Short It's easy to forget you're in a 21st-century shopping center when you're sipping a massive martini in this '40s-styled steakhouse. From big, cushy semicircular booths to vintage botanical prints on the drapes, carpet and walls, Wildfire evokes a warm, nostalgic mood. Regulars start out by sharing the citrusy chopped salad, loaded with avocado and chicken. Broiled filet mignon is served every which way, including a sampler of three crusted pre... read more
The Best Dinner in years – We went there for our 6th wedding anniversary, and wow! We had NY Strip and shrimp special. I had blue cheese crust, and my husband the horseradish crust. I liked the blue cheese better..... Everything was excellent. The salad, the steaks were cooked perfectly, and so very good. This beat Ruth Chris by far.
Excellent Food and Service! – This is my all time favorite restaurant. I have been eating at Wildfire frequently since it's opening in October 2002. The service is amazing and the food is just as great! The chicken chopped salad is my absolute favorite anywhere. The steaks are amazing and cooked to perfection, I prefer the bearnaise crust. Macadamia nut crusted halibut is excellent as well. The restaurant is very well staffed and you will never run out of drinks or have any extra dishes on your table. The Ellington Room boot... read more
The best steak EVER!! – I long to go back to Minneapolis just so I can eat here! The food was incredible from the salad to the sides.
Average. – To begin, the restaurant is located in a large mall. So, they have a lot to make up for with atmosphere. The ambiance was nice but not extraordinary. We sat in a small side room, the Savoy Room. Perhaps, the larger main room would be more interesting. The service was exceptional and on par with any top restaurant. The food, however, was average. My halibut was dry. The chopped salad was swimming in dressing.
Good but not great – Overall I enjoyed this restaurant, however Wildfire is definately a step below the Manny's / Capital Grille type restaurants. I ordered the steak and lobster. The steak was very good and cooked exactly the way I wanted it (Medium). The lobster tail was smaller and more expensive than expected. Our waitor disappeared on us for 15 minutes after we finished our meal, as we were planning to catch a movie after dinner. I was very suprised when I asked for a side of bernaise and was told that they don't have t... read more
