Mr. ********, we have been out to your home on two separate occasions. The first visit, on 2-24-2021, we presented options upfront for the downstairs system and the repair was approved up front and the repair was completed. We also gave a quote to install a new thermostat but this option was declined because you wanted to install it yourselves. The second visit, on 3-29-2021, we were called out to take a look at a separate issue on the upstairs system. We again, gave options up front for repairs and also to replace the defrost board, and an option to replace the system due to the age of the system. The defrost board and the system replacement options were declined and the repair option was approved, therefore we completed the repair. On MArch 31st, an itemized receipt was requested from our company, we had already provided our invoice itemized based on tasks performed. This was not what was wanted and we had our service manager call and answer all the questions you had. The service manager explained the following: The invoice given to the homeowner was itemized; our company is not a "time & material" company we are a flat rate company. To define a flat rate company, our price book is comprised of a flat rate for each task that the technician performs, this task amount is comprised of several different things, benefit of flat rate pricing is that we are able to present a price per task up front before the work is done. Customer sees price before any work is done, has the option to ask questions approve work or not do any work. So, no matter how long the task takes or what it entails our price does not change from what is given up front. Our cost to do business far extends our technicians time on the job and materials used on the job. It starts with advertising, running a call center, running a dispatch center, then our tech comes to your home, none of which includes a very long list of expenses for business in our industry such things as, employee benefits, uniforms, employee salary, fully stocked trucks, taxes, tags, titles, workman's comp, and so on.
