Since the government isn't funding yous any more I guess we need to pick up the slack.
Thought I'd tell you how much I'm going to miss the 5am BBC News round-up (funny, I can't remember what they actually call it). It has been the first thing I hear as I get ready for work for a decade. I will miss the different internationalist perspective which it provided. I often told people that I would often hear important news items which would go un-reported elsewhere. NPR news is good, but I will still miss hearing a different--foreign perspective on the news. Hope you all will be up to the challenge.
I enjoyed the talk on "Trump and Our Water Systems: A StateImpact Discussion". The panelist were diverse (teacher and community activist, environmental lawyer, former CEO of PWD, and an administrator experienced at several organizations. Good questions from the audience. I particularly remember the opening speaker's comment that the greatest improvement in public health came from improvements in public water infrastructure. Hepatitis A, cholera and typhoid are nearly nonexistent in our city.
