In terms of a particular comment regarding this raw period after the shootings in Parkland, FL...I will first say I LOVE WHYY and definitely like the Philadelphia Eagles, and I am impressed in almost all cases with Jennifer Lynn as well, but yesterday morning (i.e., Th., 2/15), was not the time for her to wax happy about the Eagles (parade, etc.), partly because of any connections which can be made between Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and our area; the two that I know of are that MSD's mascot is an Eagle as well, so ... read more

Enough already with the 3rd week of annoying pledge groveling. Put Ed back in his coffin . You have past the point of reasonableness.
I generally love WHYY. However, this past week, between the pledge drive and all the eagles coverage, I'm not sure I've heard any actual news on the radio. Other than the reliable top-of-the-hour news reports from NPR, I've listened to barely any WHYY this week. I do not know of any other public radio station that spends so much of a given hour soliciting pledges.
