Great People/Hospital! I have been coming to the Wheaton Animal Hospital for 4 years now with my dog, they are always pleasant and genuinely care about their clients and pets. I have witnessed clients abuse the staff there and the staff have remained calm and still pleasant to the person who was obviously trying to cause problems. They give my dog great care and I have never experienced any "hidden" costs - some people get pets and don't understand what they are getting into in terms of care. The doctors that I've meet at th... read more

Good quality care I've been going to Wheaton for 14 years now with 3 different dogs and have received consistently excellent care. Dr. Schwartz has been the primary caregiver, but I've also had appointments with several other vets when he was not available. I've found them all to be knowledgeable and courteous.

Dr. Schwartz has been the primary caregiver, but I've also had appointments with several other vets when he was not available. I've found them all to be knowledgeable and courteous. Some of the front desk staff can seem gruff at times, especially to newcomers. By now, I've learned the personalities of most of them and simply make allowances for that. We all have difficult times, and I imagine dea... read more

You take the good with the bad... It is with great difficulty that I write this review--especially since my animals are still being treated at Wheaton Animal Hospital. As with all health-care facilities, you have some "winners" and "losers." Let's start with the winners. Hands down, Dr. Schwartz conveys a sense of ernestness and caring that some of the other clinicians do not, even if he does not always have the answers (and he'll be quick to tell you if he does not, as opposed to some of the arrogant 'bluffers' that I've se... read more

WAH is for the birds!!!!!! I have taken several birds to see Dr.Schwarz and am always impressed with his demeanor - he takes his time and you always feel he cares about your animal. I feel his avian knowledge is fine, I have luckily had no need for anything but routine care for my guys. I've never felt that they do hard selling for products, but will recommend if you ask. Hours are good, I can always get an appointment.

Lots of Smooze & Selling but Little Competence Do you need smooze and attention as a pet owner or do you need up-to-date medical attention for your pet? Wheaton Animal Hospital specializes in the former, not the latter. Hard selling of unneeded 'fluff' services whilst entirely missing an emerging disorder in our beloved dog.

Very very very happy! I started taking my guinea pigs there several years ago because they were recommended by HRS and I was looking for a new vet. For my pigs, I've found both Dr. Schwartz and Dr. Maa to be kind, caring vets. When one of my pigs was dying of renal failure, Schwartz helped me find an appropriate pain medication for him. We also moved our cats to this practice. They were the ones that finally diagnosed one of our cats with a food allergy and helped get it cleared up. They also didn't try to sell us expensive ... read more

Go elsewhere--hidden charges, unprofessional I have spent more than $500 at Wheaton Animal Hospital on care for a relatively healthy dog since adopting her a few months ago . For the annual physical, this vet facility failed to give a test for worms (should be standard, I am told) and now my dog has developed (visible) worms several weeks later... A booster vaccine for lyme disease was administered twice... We were told by one of the vets we needed a health certificate to take our dog with us on a domestic flight and we were... read more
