Good basic clinic I have taken both of my cats to this clinic, I find it to be a bit pricey, but very caring and easy to work with. Their later hours help allow for care around my work schedule and they are very good about treating urgent care items (minor wounds, irritation).

The "Jiffy-Lube" of veterinary hospitals Perhaps OK for routine shots and obvious problems like broken bones or skin disorders. Not OK for any non-routine diagnostics or therapeutics. Vet (Schwartz) not up to date with modern veterinary medicine at all. Front office staff is pleasant enough.

Long-time Happy Pet Owner Loves Wheton Animal Hospital! I have taken several generations of pets to Wheaton Animal Hospital with great success. The lobby is divided into two different sides so cats and dogs can be separate and comfortable if need be. While they sometimes get very busy with all different kinds of animals, the staff is always extremely friendly! One of our previous pets was very ill and required many visits to the vet. They were extremely tender to her and went above and beyond on several occasions fitting her... read more

You take the good with the bad... It is with great difficulty that I write this review--especially since my animals are still being treated at Wheaton Animal Hospital. As with all health-care facilities, you have some "winners" and "losers." Let's start with the winners. Hands down, Dr. Schwartz conveys a sense of ernestness and caring that some of the other clinicians do not, even if he does not always have the answers (and he'll be quick to tell you if he does not, as opposed to some of the arrogant 'bluffers' that I've se... read more

Webmaster not doing his or her job I was looking at listings of animal hospitals near me and noticed an inappropriate, highly offensive, comment listed by you from a "J Joon" under the evaluation of one of your animal hospitals (I think it was Wheaton Animal Hospital Kensington, Md. (Wash, D. C. area). This person is obviously unworthy of posting a comment on your website. His submission should be beneath your website's standards. His entry should have been checked and eliminated before ever posting it in the first place. Th... read more

Good quality care I've been going to Wheaton for 14 years now with 3 different dogs and have received consistently excellent care. Dr. Schwartz has been the primary caregiver, but I've also had appointments with several other vets when he was not available. I've found them all to be knowledgeable and courteous. Some of the front desk staff can seem gruff at times, especially to newcomers. By now, I've learned the personalities of most of them and simply make allowances for that. We all have difficult times, and I imagine dea... read more

Won't be returning I took my basenji puppy in to have several things done at once. She needed utd shots, heartworm test and meds and a little bald patch on her thigh looked at. Of those 3 things only one was taken care of-the bald patch. In order to test for heartworm you need to bring in a small sample of feces. So I went out into the backyard, managed to get some in a baggie and carried this gross bag around only to have them not follow up w/ the test or meds. I wasn't completely fed up though-everyone makes mistakes right... read more

Unhappy I am not a big fan of Wheaton Animal Hospital. I took my black lab there several times when he was a puppy. I always felt rushed and the Dr. was running behind on appointments so I had to wait. Then I felt my questions weren't answered thoroughly. I tried to call back to ask a question when my puppy was vomiting and no doctor ever called back. I ended up calling another hospital (Kindness) and they saw my pup that day. I now go there since they seem to spend more time with me and seem to really love my dog. I just fe... read more

Great People/Hospital! I have been coming to the Wheaton Animal Hospital for 4 years now with my dog, they are always pleasant and genuinely care about their clients and pets. I have witnessed clients abuse the staff there and the staff have remained calm and still pleasant to the person who was obviously trying to cause problems. They give my dog great care and I have never experienced any "hidden" costs - some people get pets and don't understand what they are getting into in terms of care. The doctors that I've meet at th... read more
