Purrfect It's the best animal hospital I've ever been to, clean and comfortable. No long waitings, and everyone there is very professional. I took my little katty to there for some health check, before a surgery. People there was trying to answer all my concerns and questions, very knowledgeable. PROS: Expertise CONS: N/A
Go elsewhere--hidden charges, unprofessional I have spent more than $500 at Wheaton Animal Hospital on care for a relatively healthy dog since adopting her a few months ago . For the annual physical, this vet facility failed to give a test for worms (should be standard, I am told) and now my dog has developed (visible) worms several weeks later... To: Joon J Keith is the Mgr of Wheaton Animal Hospital and has totally devoted approximately 20 years to making sure the customers are helped, the animals are cared for and that everything is taken care in the most compassionate, and professional way that anyone possibly can. Aloof administrator at the phone I called this animal hospital this morning telling them that I had an emergency with my guinea pig. They did not seem to care at all and said they had no appointment times. I was duly unimpressed and found them to be extremely unaccomodating.
Great with Birds Dr. S at Wheaton is one of the best I've found in the DC area for bird (small to large parrot) care. He is professional, kind, thorough, and always willing to explain things to me and educate me. I even recommend him over other more-specialized avian vets in VA and Baltimore who I've found sometimes aren't as friendly or accommodating to owners wishes or who can be very aggressive to treat when a wait and see attitude could be better -- not to mention they're more expensive, often because they try to push th... read more
Amazing for exotics, invested, caring staff, Dr. Schwartz #1!!!! We take our guinea pigs to Dr. Schwartz and have for almost two years-we've gotten to know the staff at Wheaton. They really care about the pets and people. Dr. Schwartz is amazing with exotics. What he doesn't know he'll look up-and it's hard to find something he doesn't know. Lots of Smooze & Selling but Little Competence Do you need smooze and attention as a pet owner or do you need up-to-date medical attention for your pet? Wheaton Animal Hospital specializes in the former, not the latter. Hard selling of unneeded 'fluff' services whilst entirely missing an emerging disorder in our beloved dog.
Dr. Gary Schwatz is the best exotics doctor! I met Dr. Schwartz when my parakeet got sick. He is very caring, compassionate, nice. You really feel comfortable. Staff is also very helpful. The hospital is clean and comfortable. PROS: Great place CONS: None
Very very very happy! I started taking my guinea pigs there several years ago because they were recommended by HRS and I was looking for a new vet. For my pigs, I've found both Dr. Schwartz and Dr. Maa to be kind, caring vets. When one of my pigs was dying of renal failure, Schwartz helped me find an appropriate pain medication for him. We also moved our cats to this practice. They were the ones that finally diagnosed one of our cats with a food allergy and helped get it cleared up.
