They completely "washed their hands" of any responsibility for $1,800 water damage to the interior of my Passat due to drain holes under the hood, covered by a plastic cover that became clogged. I sued and won a partial award and all they had to say for themselves is that it was "something that they don't normally check". The $2,168 that I paid for "Platinum Level" warranty coverage is not worth the paper it is printed on.
RecommendedI was super nervous with leasing a new car, but everyone at Smithtown Volkswagen was super helpful and they went far beyond my expectations. DO NOT use them for service! My boyfriend is currently being jerked-around on the service for his GTI...he dropped it off Sunday night...they’re just sitting on it, no updates...no loaner car, no rental offered...he can never get any updates or info...he calls every other day, it’s the same b-s...”they’re working on it.” Working on WHAT?? I think they might be clueless as to the nature of this repair. It’s now Friday afternoon. He’s been stranded since last Sunday without a car...this is ridiculous.

Had a terrific experience this past week. I worked with salesman Jerson. He is amazing. Not pushy at all. Really listened to my needs and put together a deal that worked out great for me. No games. He was so easy to work with. He even took care of all the paperwork ahead of time for me so I only had to spend about 40 min at the dealership to pick up my car. They could start by being honest - 2 chips in the front passenger side windshield were discovered 15 minutes after pulling off the lot - sales rep was called within 15 minutes. Was told he would look into it and call back - never did - as usual it's the customer having to chase down the vendor. Upon calling back - was told to put thru my insurance - Are you kidding me? This is a "certified" vehicle and you let it off the lot like this? This is a problem they have to fix!
Had a very positive experience leasing another Jetta . The service people are very friendly and knowledgeable and willing to negotiate to a fair price. Adam is was wonderful A+++. The cars they sell are very reliable , never a problem . Thank you
