Beautiful Private Room – My frineds and I experienced Villa Romana due to a very good recommendation. The private room was so beautiful and food and service were just delightful. The beautiful venue made my birthday truly special
Do not pay attention to him – My husband and I came in with our child on the eve of The Bay To Breakers. Villa Romana was very busy and the staff was doing a fabulous job with all the guests. My husband , Bob, was having a bad day, and took it out on the waitress, who was very gracious. In summary, the food and service was just wonderful! We will come back without Bob, next time.
lousy pizza tough calamari pricie only one kind of wine by the glass no kids menu bad attitude too – pizza was ridiculously uncooked and not as big as it should be -we ordered an 18 incher maybe it was 15- and had to send it back because it was almost raw $26. it came back slightly betther but still uncooked .Calamari apetiser came AFTER the pizza and it was also uncooked and super tough. we took one bite and that was it $10 . No wines by the glass other than chablis or burgundy $5.95. Are we still in that dark age? no kids ... read more
very flavorful thin crust pizza – I like their authentic new york style thin crust pizza. it is prepared with ingredients that are so obviously fresh, it makes my mouth water just thinking about it. i am a pizza aficionado and i tell you the truth when i say this pizza is pretty darn good.
Superb italian cuisine – Let's just say that we were low on our expectations for this restaurant. We heard it was good, but did not believe that a pizzeria-restaurant could be so great. The minute we strolled up to the restaurant from the outside we saw the rustic neon 1950's sign that said Villa Romana ristorante and pizzeria. It was a beautiful original sign that unfortunately, doesn't give the restaurant justice as you tend to think of it as a pizza place. It is not just a pizza place! The southern italian cuisine reminds... read more
Small cozy Italian restaurant – Very impressive small Italian restaurant in the city. I was told that it has been around since the early 50's and decided to give the place a whirl. So, I made my boyfriend take me there last night. To our surprise the place was very small, yet very, very cozy. It has nice cozy booths and a very warm and inviting appeal/allure to it. The brick-oven pizza is prominent when you walk in the front door, as is the owner twirling pizzas constantly behind the oven. So, we were seated by the host (ton... read more
Quick bite turned into best meal of my life – Went to this place with my buddy for a quick bite to eat and ended up having the Best meal of my life. The waiter was a first class guy that simply explained the menu options available and from that point on all I can tell you is that we were chowing down some of the best Italian grub I've ever tasted. My grandparents are both off the boat from Palermo, Sicily. And i gotta tell ya they would be impressed with this place if they were allive today. My buddy ordered their chicken pi... read more
Best Crab-Cioppino Ever. – Villa Romana prepared the best Crab-Cioppino I have ever tasted, bar-none! It was delicious, abundant, and reasonably priced. It beats the wharf or anywhere they serve it ten fold! Tony, the owner is professional and truly concerned about each and everyone of his diners having not just a good or ok time, but a fabulous and memorable dining experience. Sam, his head waiter is not too shabby either!
Good, Authentic, Old-School Italiano! – Villa Romana is a fabulous old-school Italian Ristorante that's been around since 1955. The decor reminds you of Italian Places that you see in old Italian type flicks like the Godfather. I thought it resmbled Louis in Godfather I. You also get to see some ld Timers in there that, in my judgement, Simply have To Be Connected! I mean some of these guys are right out of the Godfather. All kidding aside, I was told by one of the owners that Pacino and Coppola frequented the place. Now, ab... read more
