Unbelievable Food and service. – We had no knowledge of Villa Romana prior to yesterday, and when we initially walked into the restaurant we had no idea what great food and service we were in store for. i mean the food was just fabulous. I never tasted such a great Linguini Alla Diavola like this one here. It was spicy but not overwhelmingly so. The server was a nice young lady who seemed to love working there. Overall experience was two thumbs up
Surprised – I can't believe this restruant has gotten the amount of good reviews that it has. I've had their food a couple of times and frankly Amicis is WAY better. The Pasta with Clams that I ordered the first time had no flavor and was extremely oily. The 2nd time the Pizza was cold and the ingredients were of a fairly low quality. Not to mention that the manager at the time Tony was rude and of little help. Frankly there are a lot of restruants in the city you should patronize before you try this one out. The service and... read more
Worst Delivery experience EVER – My fiancee and I had ordered from Villa Romana before and the food was less than stellar, but we thought we might have ordered the wrong things. We decided to give the restaurant another chance last night, and it turned out to be an awful mistake. When we called in our order, we asked for a total, and the order-taker didn't answer us. He merely said "Your order will be there in an hour". We asked if we could give our credit card number, and the guy said " your driver will deal with that, it w... read more
Elegant Banquet Room! – My very dear friend just got married this past saturday, and the Wedding Rehearsal Dinner was held in Villa Romana's very elegant banquet room the day before. The room is non-pretentious, yet elegant, and very functional as it was able to accomodate our group of 40 quite comfortably. The servers were first rate and very enthusiastic about their restaurant, Villa Romana. the food was very authentic and delicious! I will definetely be back soon. Oh, and the owner, Tony is very cute!
best italian in san francisco – this is my favorite resturant for italian food. its really small and romantic and the service is better than anywhere else i've been. i go there a few times a month. the prices arent bad either, its worth it for the portions they give and the quality of the food.
Great Chicken Parm – This place serves the best chicken parmigiana i have ever tasted. the vegetables that come with it are fantastic too!
Wonderful little restaurant – My husband and I absolutely adore this little restaurant. The cuisine is very authentic and traditional Southern italian, and very yummy! I also really liked the owner and his son, they are both very courteous and knowledgeable about all things Italian!
Very cool brick pizza oven – We tried this pizza upon recommendation and found it to be very good. The pizza oven is made of brick, and i was told that it's the original one from the 50's. the pizza chef must be the owner because he took great pride in not only preparing the pizzas, but at making eyecontact with everybody, and asking "howsa the pizza, ehhh" Very charming guy!
Mama Mia!!! – I am completely amazed at how such a small little neighborhood pizzeria/trattoria can be so fabulous, and consistent too boot! The food and service are very authentic and never inconsistent. This is my 3rd time there and it was great all 3 times! The only issue that I can see is that it is so popular that it's hard to get in on any night, let alone on a weekend evening. I recommend making reservations online! Or, just say you are a friend of Tony's, the owner!
