Quick bite turned into best meal of my life – Went to this place with my buddy for a quick bite to eat and ended up having the Best meal of my life. The waiter was a first class guy that simply explained the menu options available and from that point on all I can tell you is that we were chowing down some of the best Italian grub I've ever tasted. My grandparents are both off the boat from Palermo, Sicily. And i gotta tell ya they would be impressed with this place if they were allive today. My buddy ordered their chicken pi... read more
Best Crab-Cioppino Ever. – Villa Romana prepared the best Crab-Cioppino I have ever tasted, bar-none! It was delicious, abundant, and reasonably priced. It beats the wharf or anywhere they serve it ten fold! Tony, the owner is professional and truly concerned about each and everyone of his diners having not just a good or ok time, but a fabulous and memorable dining experience. Sam, his head waiter is not too shabby either!
Good, Authentic, Old-School Italiano! – Villa Romana is a fabulous old-school Italian Ristorante that's been around since 1955. The decor reminds you of Italian Places that you see in old Italian type flicks like the Godfather. I thought it resmbled Louis in Godfather I. You also get to see some ld Timers in there that, in my judgement, Simply have To Be Connected! I mean some of these guys are right out of the Godfather. All kidding aside, I was told by one of the owners that Pacino and Coppola frequented the place. Now, ab... read more
good food, poor delivery...just remember, follow up with a question! – I've just returned from Villa Romana... having dined with a good friend, am in an overall sense of contentment, however, the lasagna was cold, which was promptly corrected (and i got more broccoli to boot!) which led to profuse apologies by Tony II. Later the bill was delivered with a gift card. As it turned out, it was the wrong bill, and not our gift card. After some confusion, the correct bill was delivered along with a promise of our own gift card. We... read more
Great Service, Average Food – Just came back from dinner and had a great overall experience. We arrived and were promptly seated and waited on. The waitress was so nice and attentive; she definitely added to our dining experience. We didn't choose the $23 dinner special - one appetizer, one soup/salad, one entree, and biscotti for dessert - but it definitely seemed well worth it if you have a big appetite. Instead, I had the spagetti with meatballs (yum!) and my boyfriend had the prawn fettucine with pesto (bland = disappoin... read more
Eat Drink And Be Merry, at The Villa. – Villa Romana is simply the Best Italian Restaurant in SF. Sam, Maya, Brian, Matt, Tony Jr., and Tony Sr. are all Fantastic People! I still can't figure out how people can be so passionate about their work. These people are perfectionists about their food quality, service, and the ensuring that their guests all Eat, drink, and are Merry!
Always consistently good – Everytime we go in with the family or out of town guests or friends, Villa Romana is always the perfect venue. The food, service, and atmosphere never ceases to impress! tony and his Papa are wonderful restaurateurs that love their restaurant and love pleasing their guests. Sam, Tony's head waiter has been there forever, and does a fabulous Job!
Very nice experience – It was a very nice experience at this restaurant. We all enjoyed the food and drink, and especially the fun service staff, who were comical and thorough at the same time. The Bar was stocked with some great liquors and aperitifs which really ensured that my friends could ask for anything and get it!
Very Tastey, and Authentic. – I really liked their fresh homemade bread and they give evryone a taste of their pizza bianca at no charge as soon as they seat you. The other thing I really enjoyed was their marinara sauce. It tasted authentic and it was not overpowered by any one of the ingredients used to make it. In other words, you wouldn't just taste Garlic. So, it was just great. Great, Tastey food.
