Viking Oil Performs Magic? I have been with Viking for 10 years -- I have had it. They always delivered on time BUT For the last 5 years I have to call them each change of season because their outsourced service partners (Never the same guy) comes and rewires the system so when winter hits, they send an incompetent who rewires the system so the heart works, then when summer hits they send another incompetent to rewire the system so the AC works. Incompetence - Poor Rating with the Better Business Bureau Viking Fuel Oil made a delivery error to my residence. The two options they offered me were to pay for oil they delivered in error or pay for it's pickup. They wanted me to be financially responsible for their mistake. They have a poor rating with the Better Business Bureau. Avoid Viking Fuel Oil.
Excellent Service Viking Oil has never missed a delivery in the 15 years I have been doing business with them. Their service technicians are reliable and friendly. If you find a better price elsewhere, Lou will always negotiate.
Sharks I usually don't write reviews but this place is so bad I want to warn others.We just started with Viking in September 2008. Now, three months later, we are dropping Viking and moving our business to a new oil company.Like everyone else, we were on automatic fill and ran out of oil. We called for emergency service at 7:30 PM and the guy finally showed up at 10:15 PM, to discover we ran out of oil. Watch Out!!! When I canceled Viking this fall I got about 5 calls from the owner schmoozing me to convince me to come back. I had signed a contract with another company at this point though. Viking obviously knew I had canceled but decided to come and fill my tank anyway. The new company unknowingly came to fill the tank and we ended up with oil in the basement. Stay Clear I would also recommend to anyone considering Viking Fuel Co. to stay clear. Early this Spring, I received a nasty message on my door stating I should pay up for they would take the fuel back out of my tank. I hadn't even ordered any fuel and the name and address belonged to a neighbor. Evidently, THEY SAY, that they put oil in my tank by mistake when it should have gone to someone else, but just the same they wanted me to pay. Unsatisfactory Service I would not recommend Viking Oil to anyone! We were on automatic fill-up and they allowed the tank to empty on two separate occasions. The first time we were living in the home with our infant daughter and had to wait five hours for them to come and refill it. The second time we were not living in the home - we had it on the market to be sold - and we returned to the home one weekend to find icicles hanging on the faucets and snow in the fireplace. Don't waste your Money!!! These people are nice until they mess up. After an oil leak they caused at my house, they did a horrible job cleaning it and tried to get out of reporting it( we are talking about a 50 gallon leak, not small). After I called the DEP, Viking charged the cost of all the oil to my card without permission. After I had Amex remove the charge, they called and left me a nasty message, then they charged me again, but this time for the service call as well! Excellent Service When I moved to West Hartford, I was told not to use Viking Fuel so I avoided them for awhile. Then one stormy winter in 2006 all the other oil companies refused to service me because it was late in the day near the weekend. I called Viking Fuel, recieved a friendly and welcoming voice. Viking Fuel came to the rescue within a few hours. Another time, the furnace broke down and I was afraid it would be an outrageous price to repair.
