Unfair-Do Not Trust! BAD-Ordered 100 gallons of fuel oil, Viking topped off tank on multiple occasions. Called with concern about billing and was told by the owner not to worry and to pay in installments as I have for many years. Again mid-April, before my account was zeroed out, Viking filled tank. Viking Oil Performs Magic? I have been with Viking for 10 years -- I have had it. They always delivered on time BUT For the last 5 years I have to call them each change of season because their outsourced service partners (Never the same guy) comes and rewires the system so when winter hits, they send an incompetent who rewires the system so the heart works, then when summer hits they send another incompetent to rewire the system so the AC works. Stay Clear I would also recommend to anyone considering Viking Fuel Co. to stay clear. Early this Spring, I received a nasty message on my door stating I should pay up for they would take the fuel back out of my tank. I hadn't even ordered any fuel and the name and address belonged to a neighbor. Evidently, THEY SAY, that they put oil in my tank by mistake when it should have gone to someone else, but just the same they wanted me to pay. Excellent Service When I moved to West Hartford, I was told not to use Viking Fuel so I avoided them for awhile. Then one stormy winter in 2006 all the other oil companies refused to service me because it was late in the day near the weekend. I called Viking Fuel, recieved a friendly and welcoming voice. Viking Fuel came to the rescue within a few hours. Another time, the furnace broke down and I was afraid it would be an outrageous price to repair. Shameful Awful, the owner is a slimeball, was actually waiting at my new house when I got home from the closing, has some kind of illicit connection with the town hall folks because my lawyer had not even been to the office to file paperwork yet. Made all these promises about locked in prices then changed his tune mid season and charged me going rate when the prices went up. The owner is quite a character Within a week of my moving into the area, I received a knock on the door. It was Lou, the owner of Viking Oil Co. Needless to say, I have been with Viking for the last 3 years. Their prices are good, especially when you call them and tell them you will switch unless they drop.
Sharks I usually don't write reviews but this place is so bad I want to warn others.We just started with Viking in September 2008. Now, three months later, we are dropping Viking and moving our business to a new oil company.Like everyone else, we were on automatic fill and ran out of oil. We called for emergency service at 7:30 PM and the guy finally showed up at 10:15 PM, to discover we ran out of oil. Don't waste your Money!!! These people are nice until they mess up. After an oil leak they caused at my house, they did a horrible job cleaning it and tried to get out of reporting it( we are talking about a 50 gallon leak, not small). After I called the DEP, Viking charged the cost of all the oil to my card without permission. After I had Amex remove the charge, they called and left me a nasty message, then they charged me again, but this time for the service call as well! Excellent Service Viking Oil has never missed a delivery in the 15 years I have been doing business with them. Their service technicians are reliable and friendly. If you find a better price elsewhere, Lou will always negotiate.
