I was led to Dr Varma through recommendation from a surgeon after thyroid cancer diagnosis. Dr Varma treated me with RAI. He is a known specialist in the area of thyroid cancer. I am very grateful for his medical care.

I have been a patient of Dr. Varma's for 13 years. Just saw him yesterday, and although he's 80, he's still on his “A” game. He is highly respected and aggressively treats thyroid cancer. Once his appointments were all booked (unusual occurrence) and I considered finding another doctor to do the follow up scan just that one time. My endocrinologist told me…that if I saw another dr. I could be putting my life at risk. He’s knowledgeable and phenomenal at what he does; I'm thankful for him

Although I do not doubt that Dr. Varma is very experienced in treating thyroid disorders, I found his approach with me to be very one-sided. It was more like let me tell you how I know exactly what should be done and not providing clear explaination of treatment options. Also, he really pushed for me to be off thyroid meds for 3 weeks which caused me to be severely hypothyroid. Had I known that Thyrogen would have been just as effective at raising my TSH, I would definitely have opted for it.
