I either felt patronized. It seemed as though Dr. Van Fossen wanted to lead me along and do as she recommended without question. When I expressed my opinion, against her advise it was as though she was finished and suggested I find a support group! When I asked what my next step should be she turned her back, said, "Don't have an additional mammogram," and walked out the door. Letter arrived - ",,,the responsibility of your declining medical care for this condition is yours only."
I could not ask for a more compassionate and caring doctor. She is very knowledgeable and kind. I highly recommend her
Dr. VanFossen was my surgeon for a preventative nipple sparing mastectomy. She was so kind and caring. Surgery day she came and spoke with me. She was very reassuring and understanding of my obvious anxiety. Surgery went well. She came to my room and checked on me a few times during my 24 hour hospital stay. Knowing i had traveled a ways she really wanted to make sure i was comfortable going home after just one night. I truly appreciated her concern thoughtfulness. Would recommend her to anyone
Had partial parathyroidectomy of right lower adenoma due to hyperparathyroidism. Dr. Van Fossen was very professional - kind and informative with superb surgical technique. No complications. Small lower neck incision in skin fold healing beautifully. Continue to follow her instructions of applying Vitamin E and Sunblock SPF 30 to incision daily. Excellent experience with excellent surgeon. Added bonus was pleasant competent receptionist and assistant. Not able to correct earlier glitch in survey
