This was our first visit to VEC in N. Charleston and we were very satisfied with the service we received. Our lab wasn't acting himself and was in pain somewhere that wasn't obvious. So we took him to VEC to be checked out. Dr. Libby and staff ran some blood work, observed and examined our pup. He was treated with pain meds and anti-inflammatories and is doing much better. Before ever using this clinic I had heard both positive and negative things about this place. I was a little apprehensive to go there but it was 11pm and my cat, my baby boy, was sick. With MooShu, my cat, feeling ill and showing no visible signs of being injured, I wanted him rushed back to find the problem and they did so as well. There was paperwork to be filled out, of course, but during the process they did come to ask if it was ok to put MooShu on pain medication (which to me showed they cared). Even though the staff was very caring for my dog, I absolutely would not recommend you take the Doctors very seriously (get a second opinion if possible) My 13yr old dog suffered a massive seizure around 6pm. This was my only option at that hour so we rushed her there not knowing if it was possible for her to come out of it. They ran blood work as expected, found low blood sugar and potassium and said they took necessary steps to bring levels back to normal. I have been raising English Bulldogs for five years and yesterday was the most terrifying, experience that I have ever encountered involving this special breed. At 7pm yesterday, I noticed some light bleeding on Coco who was 60 days pregnant. She was scheduled for her C-section on Friday. I immediately called my vet and was told that I would have to wait this out and allow her to try to deliver naturally, OR I would have to take her to an emergency vet clinic.
