My first loan with Veterans United was great a few years ago, but this time around was horrific! We have excellent credit and had almost 100k to put down. Original rate was 4.99% with $3500 in origination fees, that was good for this time of higher interest rates. Seven months later our house is a month out from being completed, our credit score went up 30+ from paying all bills off and is still excellent, near 800. Typically rates on new builds arent locked until within 30 to 45 days of closing because the time from construction to completion can take longer than expected.
