My wife and I just had the worst experience of our home buying lives with Veterans United Home Loans, so please do yourselves a favor and go ANYWHERE else! So with this crazy housing market we thought we were doing the smart thing of getting preapproved for a mortgage, and yet it still took 5 weeks to get final approval! Excellent home loan company! The process was very well organized online and over the telephone. I had absolutely no trouble keeping in contact with my loan specialist or knowing what was needed of me for the process to proceed.
We were using a bigger mortgage company to start our loan application and they were giving us the run around. Someone told us about Veterans United and Stephanie got us going immediately and it was such a smooth and effortless experience with her. She and her team made such a stressful time so easy. So thankful we were told about them and for Stephanie. Couldn't have asked for a better experience!
I wished I could’ve gone with another loan company. I worked with a loan officer named Jon. Without my permission he pulled my credit scores, he was rude and demeaning on the phone on different occasions, and the night before I closed the house loan, Jon changed my APR without my permission or knowledge. When I addressed all these issues to the complaint/advocacy team with Veterans United Home Loans, they just said they would give Jon additional training.
