This business is a complete scam! I tried canceling them on 1/27/22 after I discovered that they have been massively overcharging me. They told me they canceled my account and I got an email but guess what! It’s APRIL and they are still on as my supplier. I called them and demanded them cancel my account and get off my electricity and they said it would take 3-5 business days. I’m beyond fed up. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM. THEY CLAIM IT’S EASY TO CANCEL BUT CLEARLY IT’S NOT.

They advertise a low fixed rate and then when you “apply” to see if your usage qualifies for that rate, you find out that it doesn’t and they offer you a rate much higher than advertised. Talk about a classic “bait and switch”. Very unethical company. Trying to screw potential customers under the guise of low renewable energy rates. Someone should investigate this company.

The Company is a scammer - they slammed me which is signing me up for service without my permission. I have filed a complaint with PA Regulators.
I was originally told by the sales agent I would save 20% of my previous Gas and electric bill. That was a flat out lie! I got charged way more then I was paying. I called the company and they knew nothing about the deal for 20% off my old bill. I told them my local supplier was way less and I gave them the current rates. They then try to sign me up for a better rate, but was still higher then my local supplier. WHAT???!

What a Ripoff!!. I made the BIG mistake of switching for both Gas and electric based on phone marketing promises. Verde charges are NOT better than **** for electric. But Gas charges are exorbitant (2.5 times more than ****) . Because it takes two billing cycles to switch back I have lost over $250 in excess gas bills. Stay with **** and ****!!!. Worst part is the Customer service. I Cant even login to my account and have to call for everything. What a Sham!. Shame on you guys for misleading consumers with fake marketing!

This company signed me up for their services and I have never heard of them. Rather than cancelling this service on the spot of my phone call they said they need to check with the 3rd party verifyer and that it will take 2 billing cycles to close me account. Is this a scam? The phone number on the account they gave me is nowhere near my phone number. How and why will it take 2 billing cycles to stop their service? I would give 0 stars if it was possible.

When a customer requests a cancellation, that request is completed by your local utility company and typically occurs on the next scheduled meter read date. Although it is very unlikely, we advise that the cancellation can take 2 billing cycles depending on the date that the utility determines. Horrible company!!! Told me I signed up at a Kiosk, which never happened, and would not transfer me to a manager. Told me the e-mail and phone number on the account, and it was not mine AT ALL!!! I was told to send in a copy of my id so that they could compare signatures, total BULL****!! Now I am waiting for a call from the supervisor of the escalations department in 24-48 business hours. Verde Energy solicited my 95 year led Aunt on many occasions. She is beginning to have some issues and I have for the past several years been her power of attorney. She has no access to account information yet her Atlantic Electric Account has been switched to Verde Energy. I would like to know how this is possible.
