Do you know that in January of 2008, North Carolina became the first state to mandate that bars must recycle glass containers? Until then, recycling wasn’t mandatory.

So how does glass blowing work? After the glass making ingredients are mixed together and heated until they liquefy, a blowpipe is inserted into the hot liquid glass, where the glass gathers on the end. The glass maker then blows into the tube and creates a glass bubble, which can be shaped into a vase, sculpture, or bowl.

Give a gift that lasts a lifetime-- or longer. Glass takes approximately 1,000,000 years to decompose! Glass doesn't decompose naturally in the atmosphere unless it is highly polluted. It can be etched using hydro-fluoric acid. This method is how etched glass is made.
