I've had bad experiences, I've had good. I think it depends on the individuals that work there. You can tell who is there for a paycheck just as quickly as you can tell who is there for the veteran. To me it's a sad environment mostly because it's a hospital full of those that have given so much for a country that at times has given so little back. A smile and handshake goes a long way.
THE DENTAL CLINIC STAFF ARE TOTALLY AWESOME. MY TREATMENT AT SYRACUSE VA HAS BEEN FANTASTIC.
As the daughter of a Vietnam Veteran who never once even applied for any Veterans benefits until he became seriously ill at 67 years of age, I cannot express enough how absolutely wonderful the VA staff has been to my dad and our family. Every single Doctor, Nurse and member of staff is genuinely concerned and compassionate. We've seen members of E.N.T., radiology, oncology, cardiac, oral surgeons, etc to diagnose and treat my fathers cancer. The staff at the VA has gone above and beyond for our family. Just enrolled in the VA about a month ago in Canandaguia, NY..got an appointment scheduled right away, had to reschedule due to snowstorm, saw my Primary Care Dr. in Canandaguia this Monday, awesome staff by the way, got my flu shot, tetnis shot, blood work done, all within about 2 hrs, needed an ultrasound done, got me an appt for earlier today, The tech that did my ultrasound was very professional...Thank You for getting me in so quickly and your professionalism
My father is a Veteran living with MH... He is always respected here. And my family and I are always included in his care. They remember him by name and handle him very well. Thank you all for the excellent care you show to him.
The medical staff was fine. The hospital is huge and didn't seem to have many people around to give directions. I got a phone number from one man so I could call the office I wanted.. Well the phone on the area I was in did not work at all. This only added to my frustration when I am already wracked with pain. But the medical staff seemed to be friendly and knowledgeable
