I went to Dr. Zahir very worried about my results. He is so understanding and very compassionate about your medical needs. He is by far one of the best orthopedic surgeons I've met.
Dr Zahir and his office staff make a great team. I would recommend him highly.
I found Dr. Zahir to be incredibly patient and knowledgeable. He was not quick to jump to surgery and provided alternate options. I appreciate his integrity and concern for my care.
I was 23 years old when I met with Dr. Zahir about horrible back pain I was suffering from. Because I was so young, he didn’t want to recommend surgery for my conditions. He wanted to give me my options and let me choose. The thing that helped me choose easier was that when speaking with him about how bad my back was, he said that if I were older, he would definitely tell me to get the surgery. I ended up going with surgery and I’m very grateful I did. I will be making the trip to VA to see him.
Dr. Zahir AND his staff are amazing! You typically get one or the other. The staff is friendly, efficient and fun. Dr. Zahir actually takes time to listen and does not discount any thoughts you may have. I am so accustomed to doctors only listening to one issue at a time so I focused on the immediate issue. How shocked was I to learn he read my paperwork and began speaking about the other issues because they could be related. I feel safe there.
Dr Zahir is awesome! I will be making the trip to Fredericksburg to continue my care with him.

He listens!! He goes through diagnostics all the time when I come in to see if there are any changes. He leaves surgery as a last resort, doesn't want to throw pills at every ailment, but find causes and ways to change movement without reinventing the wheel. The other two orthopedists I went to either wanted to have me on extremely huge doses of NSAIDS or pain medications, if they didn't 'work' they wanted to do surgery. Dr Z has helped me through mild exercises and therapy.
