I met with Dr Zahir for 2nd opinion in Sept '17, prior to surgery with a different surgeon - he concurred with the first surgeon's recommendations and even though I really liked Dr Zahir, I stuck with my original surgeon for the surgery. Big mistake - I met recently with Dr Zahir and he confirmed that I now needed a 2nd surgery but this time I need a specialist in a particular procedure that is only done at VCU or UVA. Dr Zahir has excellent "bedside" manner, is personable and great staff.
I was very pleased with the courtesy of the staff. They were extremely helpful. Our doctor took time and explained things of my sons knee easy to understand. They were very kind
I have had a very good experience with Dr. Zahir and his staff. He has taken time to explain the procedure I will be having on the 22nd and the need for it. His office has answered all questions as medical items have developed prior to my surgery. I am just so thankful to have him as my Orthopedic Surgeon and I trust him completely.
I went to Dr. Zahir very worried about my results. He is so understanding and very compassionate about your medical needs. He is by far one of the best orthopedic surgeons I've met.

I was 23 years old when I met with Dr. Zahir about horrible back pain I was suffering from. Because I was so young, he didn’t want to recommend surgery for my conditions. He wanted to give me my options and let me choose. The thing that helped me choose easier was that when speaking with him about how bad my back was, he said that if I were older, he would definitely tell me to get the surgery. I ended up going with surgery and I’m very grateful I did. I will be making the trip to VA to see him.
Dr. Zahir AND his staff are amazing! You typically get one or the other. The staff is friendly, efficient and fun. Dr. Zahir actually takes time to listen and does not discount any thoughts you may have. I am so accustomed to doctors only listening to one issue at a time so I focused on the immediate issue. How shocked was I to learn he read my paperwork and began speaking about the other issues because they could be related. I feel safe there.
Dr Zahir is awesome! I will be making the trip to Fredericksburg to continue my care with him.
