Altoona upmc sucks! My grandmother turns 69 in just two short hours, they have her sitting in the ER waiting room since 5pm. THEY HAVE NO ROOM FOR HER! She deals with back issues she’s in physical therapy for, and has her sitting in an uncomfortable chair. I’m 23 and feel like my back is killing me from sitting here. They continue to take her back for testing, and putting her right back in the waiting room. It’s now been 5 hours with no bed to relax in & no dr to see her. I find that when I'm paying a $238.83 premium every 2 weeks that one could reasonably expect better prescription service and coverage. Needed a "prior auth." for prescription - UPMC will tell you all day long that they take 24-48 hours to go though. I submitted prescription on Tuesday - after calling EVERY DAY to light a fire under someone's butt, they pushed it through today! Seems a little longer than 48 hours to get a med to ease my excruciating pain! And, another prescription I have they "don't cover"!!! WHY?!?!?!? Isn't... read more

I hate them - I pay an enornmous monthly bill to be told that I need to drive 30 miles to been seen by a doctor - when there is a medexpress 5 minutes from my house - Everything that I had done this year came out of my pocket because the $10,000 I paid for my coverae wasn;t good enough
Wait times for appointments aren’t days or weeks they are months. Access to records through the app is difficult at best, let alone getting someone to respond or let you know the results.
Everybody pulls together to help out the patients! They care about people!
I love and recommend this facility . their staff and physicians are amazing. they saved my finance's life. doctor paul gardener is especially being thanked right now for his firm belief in putting the quality of life of his patient first. the nurses on 6d are phenomenal. caring , professional but never forget they are caring for a human being . nothing short of amazing. thank you all <3
