My first visit was 2006 with a brain aneurysm. My Dr. was excellent and saved my life!! I have returned for pnemonia...kidney cancer in both kidneys...hernia repair and my care has become worse with every visit. My last experience was with the Orthopedics Department. Dr. Calahan(head of Ortho) reviewed my xrays and determined I need a new hip and was ready to replace it. I decided to wait as I needed cancer surgery first! Our daughter has been a patient with UIHC Children's Hospital since she was 4 months old. She was shaken and rushed to the hospital where they worked hard to save her life. We adopted her when she was 2 years old. Now at the age of 14 tears old she has had 8 surgeries, all of them at UIHC, 4 hip surgeries, spinal fusion, feeding tube and Baclophen pump installed, and saliva glands removed.
