We had never heard of Immune Mediated Polyarthritis until last September, and we are very thankful for the team at U of I vet hospital that were able to get her the right diagnosis and the treatment that she needed, and that she’s here and doing well a year later because of them! Thank you to Dr. Reinhart, Dr. Laia, Dr. Coleman, and all the students and staff that have cared for her!

Took my pit bull in last night for a possible infection in her cervix/uterus. They took 2 hours to see her, took her back and didn’t run any tests. They insisted it was because she could be pregnant (she’s never been around an unfixed male dog in her life). But they didn’t even take a pregnancy test. They were aware though that it was an infection, which the specific one they said it was is one that, if left ... read more

My experience here was absolutely devastating, and everything went wrong that possibly could have. I took Zander, my therapy cockatoo, here to have his stomach pumped. Ultimately, he was first starved, and then over-anesthetized, which led to his death. Friday, may 1st, we drove 4 hours and were told a team would be there waiting to do emergency surgery. We called while in route to give an ETA, but no one knew what we were talking about. We arrived at 7pm and waited in the parking lot for nearly an hour before someone finall... read more

4 weeks ago, my Little Otis was able to come home following surgery due to IVDD and injured his back. He was not able to walk when he was referred to U of I. 4 days later, he came home to me standing up in his feet and walking. I can’t thank the staff from his initial exam, to Dr Graham who was contact Dr. She called me twice a day for updates until Otis came home. She has also been available by email. To the surgeons who worked on my Otis so he could come home. Finally, the rehab team, who started him walking! I can’t forge... read more

Lilly, our Chesapeake Bay Retriever, is enjoying the outdoors. Almost a year ago, she had to have emergency surgery on a a couple discs in her back. Her entire back end was paralyzed. Today, she is running and jumping off the back deck with a big doggy smile.
