ICU members need some training in learning to drop the jerk attitude. One of my nurses was overheard by my family members just outside my door stating 'hell no I'm not getting her any water' and that her was me! I had a liver issue that they knew about yet they continued to try and give morphine for pain knowing that my liver could not process it which in turn almost killed me. Recommended RecommendedMy husband has to go to Piedmont Hospital in Jasper 1time a month for blood work. The past few months, all went well. Friendly staff, efficient process. Today, however, was not a similar experience. My husband had his standing order and additional lab work that needed to be done. Upon arrival, he had to check in and get his temperature check, just like that last three months. RecommendedI had no choice after a visit to my personal physician but to be seen in the Emergency room this morning. I must say I was very impressed by not only the safety measures each one took to protect themselves but myself as well as each patient that I observed. Naturally I was so affraid to go in, but they sure made me feel comfortable in every way! Staff used 25 yr old record, did no updating of any information, including my name, asked no questions regarding medications or other issues. I was released with prescriptions with the wrong name on them and one I could not use due to possible interaction with another medication I took regularly. Seems no one really cared. On the positive I was in and out in about 3 hrs.
