It is hard to believe in this day and age that the power company can’t assess a potential hurricane situation and put together a cohesive plan. Time after times it’s a reactive reflex.
MY FATHER IS 95 YEARS OLD WITH COPD THE UI HELPLINE KEPT FEEDING US A TON OF BS. THEY COULD NOT EVEN TELL US THE AREA IN BPT WHERE THE POWER SOURCE WAS DOWN. ITS A DISGRACE!!! WHERE THEY NOT GRANTED MILLIONS OF DOLLARS AFTER HURRICANE SANDY TO UPGRADE THEIR TRACKING AND RESPONSE TIMES IN AN EMERGENCY ?? YES, THEY WERE GIVEN MEGA MONEY BY THE GOVERNMENT ! 1 star, would not recommend. Poor planning. Poor communication. Emergency management is lacking.
Sell to someone else, Maybe they will try harder
Have been their client for more than 20 years. The worst utility ever. But we don’t have a choice. Going off the grid as soon as I can.
poor communication regarding outages and restoration updates so customers are both figuratively and literally left in the dark
Follow their own advice and prepare for the storm, have your website actual work, have your outage/restoration page work, answer phones and NOT LEAVE CUSTOMERS IN THE DARK
Terrible, buggy website. Can't add a credit card as a payment option even though every single page that mentions payment says you can. I was especially annoyed when I did not receive a bill for 3 months and I had to ask them 3 times before they finally got around to looking into the problem. I would have just ignored it, but I was afraid when they finally got around to creating a bill, it would be for like $1,000. Think about that. Their customer service is so bad, I couldn't even get them to bill me.
Garbage customer service. Had a horrendous experience getting a service installed. “Engineer” was rude and very difficult to work with and intentionally delayed the job just because he could. Sent a complaint to the company and received no reply.
