ZERO STARS. 😡 I have been trying to get a Genlink setup on my home for 5 months. By mistake they removed me from the wait list and now months later I cannot get a clear answer whether I am back on the list or not. United illuminating is the absolute worst company. For the fee they charge us for distribution you would think they have better customer service. I am calling the state to file a complaint. — feeling angry.
United Illuminating’s bills are getting ridiculous!! Just got a bill charging me $25.51 for generation charges snd $63.27 for delivery charges!!! The charge for electricity is only 37% of the bill!! What’s wrong with this picture??
we keep getting notices that we haven’t set up an account at our new house... that they’re gonna shut off our service... that we’re going to be charged with investigative fees... except we pay them HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS EVERY MONTH. we have a newborn. we can’t have our electricity shut off. i also can’t spend HOURS every week on hold to argue with incompetent (and frankly, rude) staffers. i pay you hundreds of dollars a month. our account is (and always has been) current. please stop sending these notices. also, please feel fr... read more
Recommendation to the Board of Directors of United Illuminating. After repeated poor performance by the company during major and mid scale events in Connecticut it’s time to take the company in a new direction and replace your senior leadership team. NO fat compensation packages, NO 60 days notice your job is eliminated, NO severance just pack up your desk and walk people out the door. Wouldn’t give this company 1 star. How far in advance do you need to put together an action plan for a storm we knew was coming?! By far one of the most useless and unprepared companies I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with! No wonder there’s calls for investigations into the power companies around here!
Haven’t had lights for 5 days. Called multiple times explaining that due to the fact that we don’t have light, we don’t have water (well water with electric pump). No one has paid attention so far. It amazes me that in the middle of a pandemic, UI would live us without light and water for so long. Living out of 1 gallon jugs! Highly disappointed with this company.
