I concur about the food in the basement, more choice & more accessible. I love this place.. I feel like I'm in a movie set of a spy movie, old war movie or romance flick... take your pick!
Both up and down escalators and the elevator is not working. You are out of luck if you are a handicapped person boarding one of the trains and you used the metro.
Amtrak does not charge to check baggage and you can do it hours before you leave. If you already have your ticket come in the side way to the agent on the far right and she'll do it quick.

If you can't get a rental car, you can follow the DC Metro to Vienna/Fairfax station, then take a shuttle to Dulles Airport, and get one there.
Restrooms on main level are currently closed. You can use the ones on the lower level food court.
