There are more quick trak kiosks next to the gates. If the ones at the ticker counter are full, just go toward the trains
Main hall and entry way renovations are spectacular, food court downstairs is great too with a huge selection, but the gates and seating areas are still pretty shitty...
Don't be surprised if metro is messed up. The red line has issues.

Only nasty & expensive DC cabs service Union Station. Problem for MD/VA folks riding Amtrak.
Good greek restaurant, for a food court.
If coming off Metro, go through Shopping Mall to get to the tracks. Elevator work makes the direct route a nightmare!
