It is a great place for its history. The oysters were great but seating is very cramped, very limited A/C (it was a hot day). I had the gish cakes...they were OK.... nice place just for its history.

Honestly, this place was a lot of hype that it really didn't live up to. The building was interesting and historic, but our waitress was rude. The food was great but I have had just as good of seafood meals in the Midwest. The famous chowder was excellent, and the oysters were yummy. It really came Down to the service and overall experience.

The oysters were very fresh and very cold, as they should be. This was a good visit to this historical restaurant. At other times, it has been inconsistent with quality and service.
