Great staff! Jim, bar manager was friendly! God food!
Had lunch there yesterday. Service was HORRIBLE!!!! It took 2 hours for the 4 of us to be served lunch. The waitress was obviously new (may have been her first day) but seriously you need to train your staff before you put them on the floor!! Chowder was room temperature, time between chowder and our fried seafood was 45 minutes!!! Would have complained to front of house but didn't want the girl to loose her job!!! Delicious clam chowder, really thick and creamy. My husband had the fish chowder and loved that too. Complimentary cornbread as well was nice and moist not dried out.
I'm surprised to see all the 5 star reviews. I so wish our experience had been like that. We ate around 3 p.m. on a Monday afternoon so it wasn't busy at all. The front receptionist was incredibly rude and after we were seated we waited 15 minutes before anyone even approached our table. The waitress was just as rude as the receptionist. Went for my 1st clam chowder ever and also held my first lobster ever!! Thanks for the awesome Sam Adams and experience.
Took my husband for his birthday yesterday. It was busy so we sat at the bar. Jimmy was entertaining and attentive. We had the clam chowder, 3 types of oysters and the fish sandwich. The food was amazing as always.
We were visiting for the weekend to see the Botticelli exhibit and made reservations for our caughtet birthday. Our server Corrine was awesome and small world - she used to live an hour from us in FL - excellent chowder and seafood!!!!
I recommend you make this a must see while visiting Boston. I would eat there regularly if I lived there!!!!
