I'm not an oyster fan, but I heard they serve some of the best chowda so I stopped in and sat at the raw bar for a bowl of chowda and the raw seafood platter; clams oysters shrimp. Best clam chowder I had on my trip, I had it at 4 places.

You simply have to have oysters here. Sit at the oyster bar right inside and have Dan serve you up.

The bar and the bartenders while waiting to be seated-- that was the best part of the dinner. We ordered 3 meals and one of the meals was the 2 lb lobster which was cooked well, but not over done. The other 2 meals were average at best. It's a shame that the food hasn't improved in over 25 years. The menu could use some variety. The main draw is the restaurant's history and ambience. Few places compare to it, but it would be nice if they made a little more effort to provide value to their customers.

Highly recommend by friends . Guess what , we waited over and hour and a half , the hostess promised 45 min . The food was average , service slow and not very service oriented . Checked off my historical places to visit but will not return or recommend this place . Pubs on this street have much better atmosphere and food at lower prices . Sorry
